Currency

The Seychelles rupee (SCR); one rupee is equal to 100 cents. Banknote denominations at SCR100, 50, 25 and 10, while coins at SCR5, 1, 25, 10 and 5 cents. Money changers abound at the airport banks, regular banks throughout the major islands. Keep currency exchange receipts to re-exchange upon departure.

Plastic money: Access, American Express, MasterCard and Visa are widely accepted; Diners Club, limited. ATMs at Mahé and Praslin. Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept travelers cheques in US dollars or pounds sterling.
