Mallorca is actually one grand beach of rocky coves, turquoise bays, majestic cliffs said to be some of the best in the Mediterranean. The one grand beach is subdivided into more than 70 beaches enjoyed by the 11 million tourists that partake of its splendor yearly. Check out some of them:
Cala Mayor, where the more serious water sports are held. Puerto de Andratx, an exclusive, and not yet commercialized. Palma Nova, superb fine sand, pine groves and on-going tourist development. Magaluf, a 900-meter stretch of fine sand and crystal clear waters frequented by banana-riding tourists, famous for its nightlife. Illetes, two coves of some 75 and 150 meters wide, decked with pine trees with a rich stretch of excellent sand. Peguera, beautiful, quiet, and fine sand, adorned with pine trees, one of the older and well known beach resorts on South West Mallorca. Playa de Palma, noted for bicycling and walking, its many small bars, restaurants and tourist shops adds a special personality to it. Beach Arenal, aside from its dazzling evening sunsets, people love its nightlife. Sa Rapita a kilometer-long beach you would seek if you like crowdlessness just as Cala Mesquida. Ses Covetes known to have the cleanest water on the island. Es Trenc, a 3.5 kilometer-long shoreline located between Campos and Colónia de St Jordi, with soft white sand, sparkling clean, shallow pellucid waters of greenish-blue, it is one of the best conserved beaches, dotted with a few restaurants, bars and sun beds, a yacht hangout.
