Mombasa Raha!

Fort Jesus by night....hauntingly
quiet
Formerly known as Mvita 'the island of
war', Mombasa holds sway in the archives of rich Kenyan
history. What with its prime position that led nationalities from
far and wide to fight over it - from the Portuguese to the British
to the Arabs; thereby ensuring that in Mombasa you are bound to find
amazing artifacts and, of course, stories of yore.
Hotels are in plenty, all amenities available,
though it being primarily a Muslim town you won't find pubs open
weekends, and can only buy alcoholic beverages in generic
supermarkets like Nakumatt Nyali and Cinemax.
