Night Lake Nakuru Program
ITINERARY SUMMARY
DAY 1: LAKE NAKURU : Sarova Lion Hill Lodge
This morning you will picked up from your city hotel and depart for Lake
Nakuru National Park which is app. 180 km from Nairobi (about 3hrs).



| On the way you will a chance to view the picturesque Great Rift Valley. This is the kingdom of lions, the cradle of Mankind and home of the Maasai people, the nine Kalenjin tribes and the Turkana, the oldest tribal society in the world.
The geological phenomenon that is the Rift Valley occurred as a result of a weakened earth crust that tore away, creating a jagged rift thousands of kilometers long. Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park and proceed for a mid morning game viewing drive.
This park is home to millions of Flamingoes (greater and lesser), the fish eating pelicans as well as over 450 other species of birds. It is also a good location for game viewing of the white rhino, the lion, the waterbuck leopard, the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and antelopes among other 56 different species of mammals. Proceed to Sarova Lion Hill for lunch and later on return to the park for your afternoon game viewing game drive.
The park has three famous viewpoints from where you can get a picturesque aerial view Lake Nakuru landscape i.e. Lion Hill, Baboon cliff and Out of Africa Hills (Enasoit, Honeymoon, Lion Hill ridge etc. Our naturalist driver guide will also take you through the 550 different plant species in the park including the unique and biggest euphorbia forest in Africa.
