NWR wins tourvest award. Excellence, market leadership and loyalty.

Namibia Wildlife Resorts proved its worth in the Travel Industry once again by being awarded with the prestigious Tourvest Award for its contribution to the tourism trade at the INDABA trade fair, one of Africa's biggest travel fairs held in Durban, South Africa. The award which recognizes distinctive service by Inbound Operators was awarded to Namibia Wildlife Resorts for their outstanding contributions towards the regional travel market during 2008.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Senior Marketing Manager Dr Pauline Lindeque expressed her gratitude to the hardworking staff members of NWR who dedicate their daily lives to service excellence and passion for the hospitality profession.

The annual Trade Travel show Fair which ran for a week in early May of this year, normally provides a platform for Travel agencies, accommodation providers and inbound and outbound operators to showcase their products and services; and renew or sustain existing business partnerships. During this year's show, described by organizers as a big success, Namibia Wildlife Resorts was commended by regional and international partners for displaying great market awareness with its decision earlier this year to keep its current rates for the 2009/2010 season. The global economic downturn has particularly affected the Travel industry with the latest trends indicating a decline in people travelling for holidays.

Namibia as a destination will be competing with many other tourism destinations in attracting the reduced number of travellers worldwide, and competitive pricing and value addition will undoubtedly play a role.

Namibia will now more than ever need to safeguard the competitive advantages it has over other destinations -including the unspoilt and breathtaking landscapes; abundant wildlife resources; responsible and world recognized conservation practices; safety and security; cleanliness and outstanding infrastructure. NWR and its partners remain committed to marketing these specific aspects of this beautiful country to the outside world.

The company has also committed itself to encouraging domestic travel by offering a 25% discount to all Namibian citizens, permanent residents and diplomats based in the country on its facilities. Namibian Pensioners also continue to benefit from a 35% discount off the rack rate.

There is no letting up in this business and the latest success has not eclipsed what lies ahead for the company. Following hot on the heels of the INDABA showpiece, the staff of Namibia Wildlife Resorts have been busy preparing for the Namibia Tourism Expo which is to take place from 27 - 31 May 2009 at the Windhoek Show Grounds. At this year's local centrepiece NWR will be showcasing the activities which are offered in Namibia's National Parks and there is a lot in store for Namibian adventurers, holiday makers or just individuals that seek a relaxing weekend away.
