Njati is the new secluded lodge at Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve in the extreme south of Malawi. Situated amongst the woodland near the Mwabvi River Gorge, these 6 en suite chalets with twin or double rooms will suit both those wanting a quiet bush experience and smaller family groups.

The chalets offer twin or double rooms, are en suite and have their own braai areas. There is a large kitchen for self catering or food can be provided, and a separate dining area with bar also acts as a large game viewing platform.

Mwabvi was in danger of complete deforestation and loss. Since Project African Wilderness began their conservation work there a few years ago, they have worked with local people to create the Mwabvi Wildlife and Community Trust who manage the lodge as well as Chipembere and Migudu camps – contacts are the same for all three sites.

Mwabvi is remote and beautiful and offers a unique experience. Come to see the sandstone outcrops and mopane woodlands, the beautiful Mwabvi River Gorge, the magnificent sable and kudu and plenteous birdlife. From your chalet or the viewing area you can sit and watch birds and the smaller game go along the nearby river bed. You are a stone’s throw from the Mwabvi Gorge with its own walking trail. Game drives and longer game walks are easily arranged as are visits to the local villages and the conservation camp at Chipembere.
