Earlier this year, the country was ranked 92nd out 190 countries in the World Bank, in ease of conducting business within the countries.
Generally the country has witnessed hotly contested but relatively peaceful nominations as leaders countrywide vied for various political offices. Kenya and her people have continued to demonstrate the country's stability and dedication towards peace and national development clearly displaying the democratic space that the country enjoys.
The recent campaigns and nominations to vie for seats by different political party candidates ended peacefully and the second phase of the campaigns has begun in earnest.
In 2013, driven by the respect for democracy and patriotism, Kenya held peaceful elections that saw the current leaders voted into office. Additionally, throughout the past 5 years, the country has had several by-elections countrywide, where citizens have peacefully gone to polling stations to vote in their preferred choice of leaders to take up vacant offices.
Kenya is firmly on a positive trajectory positioning herself as safe, secure destination that is open and conducive for business. The country also continues to receive various global influencers and celebrities who have visited the country for leisure and business
On August 8 2017 Kenyans go to the polls and these are expected to be peaceful and a show of Kenya's strong democratic values. Visitors to the country are assured of Kenya's magical experience even as the Wildebeest migration sets in for the next 3 months.
Throughout the elections week, Kenya Tourism Federation through its 24 Hour Safety Centre will as usual operate the election monitoring and observer network that is rolled out every election year. The primary purpose will be to provide a real time information network to tourism operators right across the key circuits. Visitors on safari can therefore be assured of an early warning system in the unlikely event that there is anything that might disrupt their safaris.
We welcome all intending visitors to come sample the beauty of Magical Kenya and enjoy the warm hospitality and friendliness of the Kenya people. |
