The Seychelles Tourism Bureau visited Tianjin, Shanghai and Shenzhen with nine overseas suppliers during July 15th to 17th for their 2013 roadshow. Over 200 Chinese travel and media professionals went to all three stops.
"There were altogether 4000 Chinese tourists that visited the Seychelles in the year 2012, which was not really a huge amount compared with other tourist generating countries. However, the figure was 2000 in 2011, and 1000 in 2010. So as you can see, it has doubled every year, thus the expected figure is 8000 this year. We were especially delighted to see that Chinese tourists have been able to get a free visa to the Seychelles since the beginning of this year. Nowadays, travel to the Seychelles were mainly for honeymoon travel, high-end vacation travel, and travel awarded by companies." said Mr. Jean-Luc, far east area manager of the Seychelles Tourism Bureau, during the roadshow.
Visa information: From this year, the Seychelles included China in the scope of VWP. This means Chinese citizens only need a passport (valid for 6 months or more) and proof of a return or onward flight ticket and accommodation.
