Crans Montana, known as a popular ski resort located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, is intensifying efforts to enhance services, support and amenities for its growing number of guests from the Arabian Gulf this summer. Its latest 'Summer in the Swiss Alps' program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of Gulf travelers and is an ideal option for those planning a unique Eid and summer vacation.
GCC tourists are drawn year-long not only to Switzerland's scenic skiing but also to other local charms such as luxury hotels, watch-making exhibits, cheese and chocolate factories, and old-world architecture. Last year, 165,992 GCC tourists trooped to Switzerland and booked a total of 492,832 overnights in the country.
The rising influx of GCC visitors has prompted the Swiss National Tourism Office to launch 'Switzerland Travel Experience-GCC 2013,' a program specifically designed to unveil Switzerland's numerous sports, well-being and touristic attractions to the discerning Gulf traveler.
Crans Montana is complementing the campaign with promotions such as its ongoing 'Summer in the Swiss Alps' offer which grants Gulf guests a free 4th day for every 3-day stay at Luxury Hotels such as the Crans Ambassador, the Hostellerie du Pas De l'Ours and Hotel Royal as well as a number of participating First Class and Comfort Hotels for the more budget-conscious. Children aged 12 and below get to stay for free as an added bonus.
"Over the past few years GCC travelers have gained a firmer grasp of the superb touristic value of Switzerland, especially during special family-bonding occasions such as Eid. This year we have come up with a great program for our Gulf guests to spend a very memorable summer in the Alps. Uncompromising value is of utmost importance to our Arab visitors and Crans Montana aims to exceed their expectations through year-long offerings tailored to meet their specific needs and preferences," said Philippe Rubod, CEO, Crans Montana Tourism Board.
More than just a typical Swiss ski resort, the iconic Crans Montana has been providing an exhilarating place for families and individuals to play, relax and reflect 12 months a year since 1893. It treats its Gulf guests to a 200-kilometre-wide panoramic view over the Alps and a breath of the cleanest air in Switzerland. The complex covers an expansive area of hotels and activity hubs that reflect the Crans Montana slogan of 'As varied as your desires.'
Crans Montana is a popular venue for alpine ski racing and hosts the second largest European golf event, the Omega Eurpean Masters, every September. It also accommodates the only winter mountain pop rock festival in the world, the Caprices Festival. Many famous personalities have been residents of the resort complex, including English actor Roger Moore alias James Bond 007, David Guetta, Madonna, Carla Bruni Sarkozy and HH Prince Harry of Wales . Crans Montana is managed by the Crans-Montana Tourism Board, which is responsible for promoting and developing touristic infrastructure in the 120-year old Swiss alpine resort. |
