China Tourism Academy revealed China's outbound tourism development annual report 2013 with Sohu travel channel and Travel TV Channel on April 24th. The report summarized the present status and forcasted the trends of 2013.
In 2012, the number of officially opened travel destinations reached 114, which is an increase by 3 compared to 2011. The steady increase of destinations and multi-outbound travelers caused Chinese customers' increased attention to the deepened experience and exploration. The constant expand of the outbound scale helps to create an obvious classification of the consuming demand. In 2012, 58.9% of the outbound tourists were rookies, which is a decrease of 4.66%.
Consuming demand obviously classified. Not only the customer demand changed from sight-seeing travel to business travel and vacation travel, the way to travel developed from joining a group to family group and FIT.
The obvious decrease of high-end consuming made the outbound consuming more common.
Percentage of the customer whose expenditure is above 5000 yuan decreased significantly.
There is a rationalization of both travel purpose and consuming structure.
China outbound travel market scale is expected to reach 9.4 million in 2013, up 15%. Outbound tourism consumption could reach 117.6 billion USB, up 20%. Due to the slow growth of the inbound travel market, the trade deficit of the tourism industry will expand to 68.3 billion USD. The development of market segmentation is speeding up. Sightseeing tours and low price tours will still maintain for a long time. Re-visit tours and depth tours are booming. Customer sources and capital will promote industry transition. More and more travel companies shift their focus to the outbound travel business, which brings more capital, work and channel to outbound travel market. |
